ThirdEye - intra-oral shots from extra-oral !

There are plenty intra oral cameras  on the market today. They are useful for documentation of findings and for patient education and patient motivation.

But, what if you want to document whole treatments like extensive prosthodontic, orthodontic or surgical treatments or your prophylaxis in whole and with audio ? What if you want to record your patientsŽ educations
to proof valid evidence in possible cases of recourse. What if you want to to demostrate your skills to your audience in live transmissions during educational courses
Intra oral cameras are not suited for shooting and recording complete examinations, prophylaxis sessions, or whole treatments. Though being video cameras intra oral cameras are only suitable to grab still images.
Believe us, today there are better ways to take still images than with a video camera !

The  ThirdEye dental camera is miniature video camera !

With a weight of only 70 grams the camera can be mounted to any dental light on the market.

A ball joint, which can be arrested in two planes, assures that the optical axis of the camera can be adjusted to the central beam of the dental light.

Once the ball joint is locked in the right position - the camera is ready for use.

All objects shined upon the beam of your dental light will be displayed on the monitor screen.

With our ThirdEye dental camera you now have a camera at hand, which permanently displays or records live intra oral images.

And you must not interrupt your work while recording.

How does it work ?
As your dental light  - guided by your assistant
or by yourself - should be aimed to your working area at any time - and the optical axis of the lens of the camera is adjusted to the centre of this light beam, the camera always shows images from within your working area on the monitor.  There will be no disturbing shadows on the teeth. You have complete control of the images recorded by the camera without having the need to watch the monitor screen. If there is enough light shed onto the object youŽre working on (tooth surface, crown, gums...) - which is crucial for a good treatment  - the camera will deliver perfect intra oral shots.

Because of the wide depth of focus (the depth of focus depending on the working distance and the illumination, measered in lux, of your dental light)  requires only little focussing by turning the lens.

At a working distance of 60 cm the ThirdEye dental camera can depict a whole quadrant on the monitor screen. The good depth of focus ensures sharp details of all the teeth from the first incissors to the last molars.

Original shot: Distance camera/mouth: 60 cm
At an object distance of 30 cm a molar with its neighbouring teeth can be depicted format filling on the monitor screen. On a 14" monitor screen (diagonal of 38 cm) that is about a magnification of 1:12
So, why not using your ThirdEye dental camera as a surgical microscope ?

Unique among all the dental cameras on the market is the ability of the ThirdEye dental camera to shoot and record video while working without having the need to interrupt your work.
Contamination of the lens because of the water spray of your turbine or hand piece wonŽt be a problem.  at a working distance of 50 or 60 cm.

Tooth surfaces or other details only be seen with your dental mirror can be shown on the monitor screen by reflecting the beam of the dental light to the tooth surface with your dental mirror.

If, in this cases, the head of your dental light should be positioned at the side of your head the image youŽll  see on your dental mirror, is what youŽll get on the monitor screen.

Original shot: distance camera/mouth: 40 cm
