| Your
dental light and the contrast of the ThirdEye camera |
|
 |
All the
video cameras cannot reproduce a wide contrast range. You can
watch this effect if you want to shoot the sunset in the evening
with your camcorder. The sun will be glistening bright and the
surroundings will be all dark or black. The same occurs if your
ThirdEye dental camera takes images in the middle of the beam of
your dental light.
At a distance of 30-50 cm the light beam of your dental light
is very bright. If the borders of the image taken by the
ThirdEye camera are all within the light beam, there
wonŽt be big differences in brightness, no wide contrast range.
Then the camera will produce a clear and crisp image with a very
good contrast and very good colors. |
 |
But what
if there are great differences in light intensity? Bright light
and dark shadows !
If your dental light produces a
light beam like that, youŽll have a problem, because the image
of the ThirdEye dental camera will be poor in contrast and
wrong-colored (reddish). There will be a dull haze on the image.
The contrast range will be too high, to be reproduced by a (any!)
video camera.
And you will get problems with your eyes too !
Because your assistant will direct the centre of the light
beam to your working area, there will be a shadow cast in the
middle of the working area, |
|
| So,
please fix the light beam of your dental light:
There may not
be any shadows in the middle of the light beam ! |
